The most recent purchase, according to Internet Evolution's Ron Miller, is Art Technology Group (ATG):
By all accounts, Oracle is getting itself a player in the e-commerce space. ATG has more than 500 employees and claims to have more than 1,000 customers in 50 countries using its e-commerce platform. Among the sites powered by ATG are powerhouses like Expedia, Hotels.com, Salesforce.com Inc. , and AT&T Inc. (NYSE: T).
It's no wonder Oracle wanted a piece of this action. Purchases of this sort are often about customers as much as they are about technology; and with this acquisition, Oracle gets access to an impressive international customer catalogue.
You have to wonder how long the stack can be used as an illustration of a company's offerings. A stack, after all, is only one-dimensional.
