Saving money when eating out - the kids meal deals

Jan Leasure lists a number of national restaurant chains where kids can eat free on certain days of the week. Jan's list:

Applebees, Buffalo Wild Wings, Champps, Dennys, Hooters, I Hop, Max n Ermas, Moes, Perkins, Steak N’ Shake, TGI Fridays

(One question: Hooters?)

However, Jan notes:

I am listing only nationally recognized restaurants here. However, for every national chain that offers special free kids’ meal deals, there are probably another five in your zip code that are local that have a similar policy. All you have to do is ask!

Jan recommended the site http://www.kidsmealdeals.com/ to find out specifics, so I went there and looked for tonight's deal at Dickey's Barbecue Pit in Rancho Cucamonga.
