Sworn under an oath to war - @drewbrees is fighting his own battle against cancer

While all of the hoopla over the auction of the @drew Twitter account continues (see my prior post), many are wondering if other Drews will step up to the plate and exceed Drew Carey's bid. One person on the lips (or the fingers) of many has been Drew Brees. But even if he doesn't join all the cool kids and bid on our favorite social media pet project, @drewbrees is engaging in charity work of his own. See this tweet:

And it turns out that the Brees Dream Foundation is already sworn under an oath to war against cancer, even if Brees has not chosen to participate in the favorite charity of all the cool kids. The Foundation states:

The Brees Dream Foundation was founded in 2003 with a mission to advance research in the fight against Cancer and provide care, education and opportunities for children in need.

Since its inception, the Brees Dream Foundation has committed more than $4,500,000 to charitable causes and academic institutions in the New Orleans, San Diego and West Lafayette/Purdue communities.

Not too shabby. And New Orleans certainly needs the help.
