Yes, we're becoming more impatient. Yes, this is powerful.
Eddie Awad linked to this announcement from LinkedIn:
On LinkedIn, you have many smart, talented, and skilled professional connections. Starting today, we are introducing Endorsements, a new feature that makes it easier to recognize them for their skills and expertise.
With just one click, you can now endorse your connections for a skill they’ve listed on their profile or recommend one they haven’t added yet.
For example, if I wanted to endorse Awad for blogging, I could do so even if he hadn't listed blogging as one of his skills.
In my view, LinkedIn differs from most social networks. While Facebook and FriendFeed and Google+ and Twitter can really be used for any purpose, LinkedIn is really tailored more toward business use. Theoretically, I could use LinkedIn to talk about non-business stuff, but the community would pretty much frown on that. Because of this, I see business endorsements on LinkedIn as being more powerful than business endorsements on Klout.
Still waiting to see Jason Alba's take on this.
