Job hunt oddities

There's been a lot of job talk lately. It seems that everyone except Michael Arrington agrees that Michael Arrington lost his job as editor of TechCrunch. But everyone agrees that Carol Bartz lost her job at Yahoo (although Bartz pointedly says that she's still on the board of directors). So who will the next CEO of Yahoo be? One candidate has tweeted his interest:

Im takn over as tha CEO of Yahoo. Need sum of tha Snoop Dogg content ya digg. Nuff Said.

But a word of caution should be exercised when considering the entire job market. This man thought that he had lined up a cushy job, but all he got was government housing:

When Raymond Charles White answered a phone call just before noon ... telling him to report for a fiberglass fabricating job he’d supposedly applied for a year earlier, he reportedly told the men he met, “Better late than never.”

What White didn’t realize until he came to the vacant building on Lakeside Drive in Mobile is that the “employers” were Prichard police detectives there to arrest him in connection with a woman’s slaying over a year ago.
