Yes, this blog is going to the dogs

Good morning! I am taking a couple of well-deserved vacation days (let's just say that I worked from 7:30 to 6:30 one day - that's from 7:30 AM to 6:30 AM the next morning). So rather than writing proposal content, I'm writing a blog post right now.

Following up on the dog theme, I recently learned about Camp Bow Wow Wow, a franchised collection of "doggy day and overnight camps." There are locations in Temecula, Anaheim, and elsewhere in my area.

One of the features that Camp Bow Wow Wow offers is "CamperCams," which allow you to view the various play areas during the day. But this service isn't just available at Camp Bow Wow Wow. The Camp's cam provider is Online Doggy, who provides "kennel cam" services for dog boarding houses and veterinarians. Apparently they'll have a smartphone version soon.

It's interesting to note that technology is neutral, but people judge whether technology is good or bad. Think of the privacy outcry that would arise if such cameras were placed in an elementary school lunchroom or a dementia care facility. Yet you and I can go to these webcams (which are not password protected) and look at any dog we please.
